Halloween

This year I went as a punk rocker for Halloween. We went to our friends, John and Star's Halloween party, and when the fortune teller cancelled last minute, I volunteered for the job! There was a line out the door of the fortune telling room as the other party-goers waited for my insight. I might have to pursue a new career in fortune telling one day because I was pretty good at it!

Making Marmalade

Yesterday I spent the day out in Ojai making citrus marmalade with my friend Fran Puccinelli. We made 50 jars and it turned out delicious! Homemade marmalade with grapefruit, orange, lemon, lime, and ginger.

The Fund for Santa Barbara

This past weekend I volunteered for the Bread and Roses 2011 event benefiting The Fund for Santa Barbara. The FUND FOR SANTA BARBARA is a nonprofit community foundation dedicated to addressing the root causes of social, economic, environmental and political challenges in Santa Barbara County. I worked the auction area and the even was such a blast! Everyone had a great time and lots of money was raised for the cause. Caron Miller Collection donated a gorgeous OTT Mesh Embroidered topper in all black. Here are some photos of me working in the silent auction.

Santa Barbara Museum of Art

Every year, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art features Caron Miller's line for a holiday trunkshow - called "The Wrap". Here we are featured in their quarterly newsletter with the trunkshow information and the Le Groovy Scarf Velvet Signature collection - Lime/Black Dot.

Show Success!!

We returned late last week from two weeks of trade shows: New York Gift and Las Vegas WWIN Show. Both were a huge success and we are still well on our way to having an amazing year! Even in these hard economic times we feel so blessed to have so many amazing stores and boutiques rocking it with the Caron Miller Collection. Big hugs and kisses to all our peeps and we hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Caron in Yosemite

Half Dome

Tomorrow we head off to Yosemite to hike Half Dome! The girls and I will be climbing the 16.8 mile hike on Friday including the final bump of the hike shown in this picture. We will be hiking up 4,800 feet of elevation! But don't worry, if it is raining, we will not be going up that last bump.

Four days after we return, I am off to New York for the Gift Show!! Bring on the silly season - it's Christmas at Caron's!

Follow up: Girls Night Out

Back in June, I attended a Girls Night Out benefiting Alpha Resource Center. It was an evening of dress up and play, make up and hair, and we were photographed in our new looks! Molly, our host, had an amazing collection of vintage hats, costumes, and jewelry.
